REDESIGN OF CORNMARKET CORK
The design strategy was based on the requirement to reinforce the fragmented nature of Cornmarket and to make a cohesive assembly of pedestrian and market space. The intervention is low key, using paving materials and elements such as stalls, lights and trees to define the space , which had to work when the market is open and closed. The market stalls are permanent features, with tables that fold up and can be taken away.
